5 Beautiful Cardboard Decor Ideas For Your Kid’s Playroom

Rockets

Children love spinning stories while playing. While decorating your child’s playroom, it isn’t enough to merely use vivid colors and textures: you need to provide them with stimuli that makes them think, create and laugh. There is nothing more suited to this than cardboard decor for your child’s bedroom.

Your child’s imagination truly runs rampant while she or he is engaged in play. By adding cardboard decorative pieces to their bedroom, you can give them the perfect canvas on which they can paint their imaginative stories. Here are 5 cardboard decor ideas for your child’s themed playroom.

  1. Dragons for Fantasy Lovers
If your child particularly loves fantasy, give her or him a page out of their very own fairytale! You can decorate their playroom with vivid blue walls, and paste customized stickers of a large palace. You can even make a project out of it by painting the palace with your child! Add gothic lanterns as part of the themed decor. The piece de resistance of the room will be a magnificent large 3-dimensional dragon, made out of laser design on cardboard. In tune with the theme, you can have the dragon guard a treasure chest filled with your child’s toys!
  2. Unicorns for a Rainbow Themed Bedroom
It’s been found that the more colors you surround yourself with, the more creatively you are inspired to think. This is especially true of children, who are intuitively attracted to bright, happy colors. For a playroom, you can definitely consider getting a rainbow color scheme. From painting the walls in Vibgyor stripes to literally painting a rainbow over a monochrome wall—there are a number of ways you can make your child’s playroom colorful and fun. The best accessory for this rainbow scheme is a cardboard unicorn head. You can consider getting a white unicorn head for brightly colored walls, or a pretty blue and pink printed design unicorn for a minimalistic one.
  3. Cardboard Astro Rocket for a Galaxy Theme
Some room designs never get old—and space-themed rooms possibly top the list. There are a number of things you can do for this: you can paint the ceiling in textured midnight blue, with splatters of white to represent stars. You can even hang mobile models of the solar system.  The best part, you can fulfill your child’s dream to be an astronaut by getting her or him their very own rocket. Get a large rocket to place by a shelf, or a smaller one that your child can zoom around with!
  4. Animal Heads for a Safari Theme
If your child keeps wanting to go to the zoo, why not bring the zoo to her? You can decorate the room with curtains that have animal prints, put customized stickers of tropical plants on the walls and add real plants for good measure! You can even get or design a toy storage box shaped like a safari jeep. The typical color scheme for such a room is yellow and green, to make you feel like you are right in the middle of a dense forest. The best part of this theme is that you can get colorful and ultra-realistic cardboard heads of all the animals your child loves: lions, giraffes, elephants, and zebras! Not only will your child love this jungle jamboree, he or she will end up learning about each animal, thanks to their intricate detailing!
  5. A TV Set for An iPad
Children these days are so committed to digital screens, that it is nearly impossible to separate them from the home iPad! If they are extremely fond of watching shows on the iPad then there is a good chance they aren’t maintaining correct posture while staring down at their screens. A good (and fun) way of countering this is investing in this funky Safari TV iPad Stand. Designed to look like a retro TV, this cardboard holder provides a durable stand for your iPad. You will be able to set it on the desk or a shelf so that your child watches shows with the correct posture and distance. Its adorable size and design make it perfect for any room. It is very light, so you can even take it while traveling!

Cardboard is light, non-toxic and durable, making it a safe decor option.  As these cardboard pieces are all made of recycled material, replacing your plastic decor with these pieces will ensure that you’re doing your bit for the environment. Cardboard is versatile so it can be fashioned into anything from miniature skyscrapers to intricately designed showpieces. Apart from using them in your child’s bedroom, you can also incorporate these fun ideas in your living room decor, bedroom decor or as decor piece for your garage to give it a fun update.
